    About Us

A converted Cornwall flour mill, a collection of mechanical instruments that produced sounds that most people had never heard before, and a family that dedicated decades to preserving that music were the origins of Paul Corin Music. One of the few locations that gave you the impression that you had traveled through time was the original Magnificent Music Machines museum at Lametton Mill, St. Keyne, close to Liskeard. Wurlitzer organs, player pianos, Belgian café organs, Victorian music boxes—instruments that performed on their own, captured the hands of long-dead pianists, and carried the soundtrack of a world gone.

This website is based on that legacy.

Paul Corin Music is still an independent music blog and informational resource today. It covers every aspect of music history, from the Victorian music halls and mechanical instruments that defined an era to the British singers and artists currently influencing sound. We think that music is more than just sound. It is a blend of human story, craftsmanship, culture, and history. You hear music differently when you are aware of its origins. We are here to accomplish that.

    What We Cover

Our content covers the history of mechanical music, including player pianos, fairground organs, Wurlitzer theater organs, and the forgotten artisans who created them. We write about Victorian performers who created contemporary comedy and performance, British music halls, and the instruments that gave those stages their voice. We examine the relationships between the old and the new, such as how a 1929 cinema organ shipped from America ended up in a Cornish mill and why that matters, or how a Cockney comedian from 1890 influenced a Suffolk singer born a century later.

We also cover current music, including chart analysis, industry news, artist biographies, career histories, and the cultural backstories of today’s biggest names in British and international music. Each artist has ancestry. Every song has a backstory. We discuss both in our writing.

    Who We Are

We are a small group of writers, researchers, and music lovers who value accuracy. Every article is written to inform, not to deceive, and every assertion we make is supported by research because we take our editorial standards very seriously. We have no affiliation with any streaming service, record label, music publisher, or artist management firm. We are not compensated for our opinions. Our readers are the only people we owe anything to.

    Our Philosophy

Effective music writing does two things at once: it reveals something you didn’t know and evokes an unexpected emotion. That’s how we try to write. Whether the topic is a 2025 album release or a 1929 Wurlitzer organ, we approach it with the same curiosity, respect for the reader’s intelligence, and conviction that the music’s backstory is always worth sharing.

You are welcome to contact us via our contact page if you have any questions, corrections, or just want to share something you think we should write about. We read everything.
